Chris Wickberg, LEED AP

Chris Wickberg is President of the Wickberg Group, inc., a firm that provides Transparent Construction™, Green Building and sustainable design, general contracting, construction management, owner representation and consulting services. He has “risen through the ranks” and achieved executive level experience with some of the largest construction companies in the country. Chris has expertise in K-12 and higher education, corporate/commercial, retail, tenant interior, church, Museum and "theme," healthcare, utility and infrastructure, marine and heavy construction type projects. Several of his projects have won national, regional and corporate “best project awards.” He brings this level of experience, understanding and knowledge to each project.

Chris is a fourth generation contractor with over 26 years of experience in a blend of public and private sector work as a Construction Manager, General Contractor, sub-contractor and an Owner Representative on Hard Bid/Lump Sum, Agency and “At-Risk” Construction Management and Design-Build delivery methods. He has directly managed over $600 million worth of projects and has had responsibility for over $1 billion of construction.

He has led a group of over 90 professional managers, superintendents and administrative staff completing over $130 million in annual construction volume. He is driven to provide a safe and productive environment for people to succeed. He has exceeding lost time and safety goals and created staff development and training programs.

Chris also has experience in the public sector, having served 4 years as the campus Civil Engineer and Project Manager representing the University of Florida. While at the University, he guest lectured for the College of Engineering and Building Construction and won several accomplishment awards.

Chris has served on various public and private boards, both on a local and state level, and has been actively involved in local community programs.

Chris has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, where he specialized in Construction Management and has post baccalaureate work from the University of Florida. He is a Florida licensed Certified General Contractor (CGC-1509379), Certified Stormwater Inspector and held an unlimited contractor's license in South Carolina. He is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and a member of the US Green Building Council.

On a personal note, Chris is married to Jill, his wife of 25 years and a proud father of a twelve year old daughter who describes her dad as honest, imaginative, hardworking and kid-friendly.   He is actively involved with faith based ministries.
